Brad Pitt Becomes the First Male Face of Chanel No.5. Karl Lagerfeld if full of surprises these days, first he gives us the Spring/Summer 2013 Hula Hoop Bag and now he’s made Brad Pitt the new face of Chanel No.5, in the first advert ever to have a man as the face of a product targeted at women. Nevertheless, unsurprisingly, the $10 million ad campaign has been welcomed by both negative and positive reactions, but I doubt neither Karl nor Brad care, especially as the later is being paid $7 million for his seductive ways. Pitt expressed his thoughts on the fragrance, stating: “N°5 has always been the most iconic women’s fragrance…That’s what I see being the appeal of this campaign; it goes beyond the abstract of emotion or beauty to evoke what is timeless: a woman’s spirit.”. It’s hard to argue with a devilishly handsome man in black and white…I’ll take two.
